Place attachment and acceptance of smart city technologies

Recent studies on smart cities have emphasised that solution initiatives should take into account citizens' different needs and concerns. The main aim of this paper is to examine the role types place attachment - emotional bonds residents with their city in predicting acceptance future technologies. In our study conducted among multiple Poland (N = 627), we found while active (i.e. conscious identification a place) predicted more favourable attitudes towards enabling technologies, traditional (natural unintentional) was positively associated surveillance technologies regarding everyday monitoring anti-Covid-19 measures.
